On the March 24th Oprah show, Dr Oz recommended the anti aging resveratrol supplement. "This Extreme life extension pill could add up to 30 years on our life expectancy." Dr Oz also discussed the benefits of calorie restriction and its affects on the aging process.
Dr Oz stated that when we restrict our calories, the body knows that it must be resourceful with what it has. "The body get very efficient" he says. Limited calories also means there is no toxic waste producing from our energy cells. This is why he states "We're actually able to get the individual cells to live longer."
"There are some risks"
Simply restricting your calories is not enough he says. After all, you can limit your calories by only eating a single Big Mac a day. Our Bodies need specific nutrients and if you're not getting the proper amount of calcium for example, your bones will weaken. "There are factors to take into account."
When the proper calorie restriction diet plan is followed, the aging process of some cells can actually be reversed. Tests have been done on many people who follow such a diet and find 50 year old men with the heart of a 30 year old.
Dr Oz stated that by simply consuming natural foods and a regular exercise ritual, we can extend our life by 20 years. 20 Years? Talk about anti aging!
Dr Oz also talked about the anti aging supplement Resveratrol. It is the main constituent of red wine and has shown to increase life expectancy by up to 50 percent! He also says in order to get the same effects from wine itself, you would have to drink over a dozen bottles a day.
Dr Oz suggested "doing your homework" if you're going to give it a try. I did mine and found these guys that offer a free try before you buy bottle. I'm going to give it a shot and maybe, I'll see you when I'm 120!
